TORONTO ONT - Powell River BC product Cam Cunning scored the game winning goal with under four minutes to play as the Abbotsford Heat edged the Toronto Marlies 3-2 in AHL action on Monday afternoon in Toronto.

Cunning snapped a 2-2 tie by taking a perfect feed from Mitch Wahl and beating Marlies goalie Jussi Rynnas for the game winner. Aldergrove's Matt Keith added his second goal of the season as did forward Greg Nemisz in the victory, while Leland Irving rebounded from a 6-2 loss on Saturday night in Milwaukee with 34 saves in Toronto to pick up his second win of the season.

The Heat wrap up their initial 3 game road trip of the season with a 2-1 record and will now head home or their home opener against the Rockford Ice Hogs on Friday and Saturday night.
