Worcester Tornadoes News Release
WORCESTER, MA- On the Tornadoes final game before the All Star break, they were outscored 10-3 by the Quebec Capitales in front of 2,874 fans at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
Quebec started the game strong picking up six runs (five earned) on three hits in the first inning when starting pitcher DJ Mattox struggled with his command.
The Tornadoes scored their first run in the fourth inning when All Star catcher Onix Mercado had an RBI single that scored Chris Colabello who had reached base on a single. The Tornadoes tacked on two more in the fifth when Austin Wasserman had an RBI double and then he scored on a single by All Star outfielder Josh Beauregard.
Quebec's Alex Garcia had an RBI single in the fifth and first baseman Eddie Lantigua followed up with an RBI double in the sixth and the inning ended with Quebec up 9-3.
Both teams were held scoreless until the ninth when Quebec's Garcia had an RBI single that scored Olivier Lepine who had singled to start off the inning.
With tonight's loss the Tornadoes fall to 1-2 and Quebec is 2-1. Quebec's Keith Dunn improves his record to 3-7 with the win and DJ Mattox falls to 1-3.

The Tornadoes are off for the next four days because of the All Star Break and will play their next game on Monday, July 24th against the New Haven County Cutters at 7:05 PM at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field.
