American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

(Nashua, NH) East Swanzey's Bryan Duplissie accounted for all the offense and former Kansas City Royals righthander Dan Reichert struck out 11 over seven innings Saturday night as the Nashua Pride downed the Sussex Skyhawks, 4-1, sweeping the three-game series. The Pride won their fourth in a row in front of 1,764 fans at Historic Holman Stadium.

Duplissie's two-run double in the first inning off Sussex (0-3, 23-25) starter and loser Derek Hawk (0-2) put Nashua (3-0, 20-25) ahead to stay. The former Franklin Pierce College standout's bases loaded smash to left center field scored James Lofton and Tommy Rojas. Duplissie then added a two-out, two-run homer in the sixth, his second of the season, to account for all of the Pride scoring.

Reichert (5-2) was outstanding in his seven innings of work, allowing just three hits and one run, walking four and striking out 11. He had help out of the bullpen from Jason Blanton, Jarrad Lavergne and Derrick DePriest. DePriest earned his third save for Nashua is as many opportunities.

The Pride are now on the Can-Am League All-Star break. Nashua will send second baseman Tom Creighton and third baseman Andy Dillard to the game in El Paso, Texas on Tuesday as the Can-Am League All-Stars meet their counterparts from the American Association. That game will be available on the Internet at 7:35 pm on Tuesday night at www.diablos.com.

Next up for the Pride will be a four-game series in Brockton, Massachusetts against the Rox starting on Thursday evening. The Pride games next Saturday night at 7 and Sunday afternoon at 2 will be carried live on AM 1590 WSMN in Nashua and on line at www.wsmnradio.com.
