Hawks Win to Start 2016
January 2, 2016 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
Drew Hotte made 26 stops on an almost perfect night during a 3-1 Waterloo Black Hawks road win against the Fargo Force at Scheels Arena Saturday.
Just 20 seconds into the game, Ronnie Hein stepped into the offensive zone, curled, and dropped a pass to the late-coming Niko Hildenbrand. The veteran forward snapped a shot over the glove of Ryan Wischow. A dozen minutes later, Garrett Wait wasn't looking for Marshall Moise, but that's who his pass found, and Moise lifted the puck into the net with a transition chance from the right circle.
Shane McMahan tightened the screws early in the third after a scoreless second period. McMahan buried the rebound of a Cole Gallant initial shot at 1:29. However, Moise scored his second of the night at 13:23, sending a low shot past Wischow from the left circle.
With the win, Waterloo clinched the 2015/16 season series against Fargo.
Next on the Waterloo agenda is a tilt with the Tri-City Storm on Friday, January 8th. Tickets for the 7:05 matchup are on sale now from waterlooblackhawks.com or by calling the Domino's Black Hawks Box Office at (319) 291-7680.
