BOISE, Idaho - Kenny Socorro rolled a seeing-eye single through the right side with two outs in the bottom of the tenth inning, scoring Wes Darvill with the game-winner, as the Boise Hawks extended their home win streak to six with a 5-4 victory over the Yakima Bears at Memorial Stadium.

With two outs in the tenth, Darvill reached on a fielding error by Garrett Weber, then took second when a Miles Reagan pickoff throw eluded first-baseman Jimmy Comerota. Darvill would take third on a wild pitch, scoring when Socorro's bleeder squirted through the infield.

Boise jumped out to a 4-0 lead tonight, scoring two in the first, including an RBI single from Paul Hoilman, adding an RBI double by Reggie Golden in the fourth and a Brad Zapenas RBI single in the fifth.

Yakima would rally, getting an RBI single by Danny Pulfer in the seventh, then tying the game with three in the ninth, the last two runs on a two-out, two-strike single by Zach Jones.

Willengton Cruz went four shutout innings in the start for the Hawks, allowing just four hits, while knuckleballer Joe Zeller was solid, allowing five hits and a run in four innings. Dustin Fitzgerald got the win, tossing a scoreless tenth. Hoilman went 3-for-5, with Ben Klafczynski and Brad Zapenas each logging two hits for the Hawks.

Kerry Jenkins went 4-for-5 in the loss for the Bears, their fourth extra innings loss this season - despite recording a season-high 13 hits. Comerota went 3-for-4 and Jones added two hits in the defeat. John Pedrotty was outstanding in relief, tossing three-plus innings of shutout ball, scattering just two hits.

The series finale is tomorrow night, with Luis Liria meeting Randy Hamrick at 7:15 p.m.
