
Hawks Ride Six Early Runs to Victory

Everett, Washington - On a cloudy afternoon at Everett Memorial Stadium, the Boise Hawks took game three of the five game series against the Everett Aquasox by a score of 6-1.
The Hawks got on the board early, putting up three runs in the second and third innings off Aquasox starting pitcher, Luiz Gohara.
Hamlet Marte got the second inning rolling with a double to left field which was followed by a Brian Mundell walk. Eric Toole laid down a sacrifice bunt to move up the runners before Wong hit into a fielders choice that scored the first run of the game. A pass ball and a Carlos Herrera RBI single pushed the lead to 3-0.
The Hawks came right back in the third inning, adding two runs after four consecutive hits to begin the inning. After back-to-back singles, Marte ripped an RBI double to make the score 4-0. Mundell and Brian Carroll each added an RBI single and the Hawks ballooned the lead to 6-0.
The Aquasox got one run back in the bottom of the fourth after an RBI single from Braden Bishop off, Jonathan Wynkoop who picked up the win for the Hawks.
Ryan McCormick took the mound for the Hawks and pitched three innings, giving up two hits and no runs with two strikeouts in his professional baseball debut. Luiz Gohara took the loss for the Aquasox, pitching five innings while giving up six runs on eight hits with eight strikeouts.
The Hawks improved to 5-6 with the win and take on the Aquasox in game four of the series tomorrow night.
Notes: After the third inning, Aquasox pitchers put down 18 consecutive Hawks hitters before a Carlos Herrera double in the ninth inning... Hamlet Marte now leads the Northwest League in doubles (7) after two RBI doubles tonight... The Hawks turned a season high four double plays on the night... Kevin Padlo, the league leader in RBI's received the night off.
