Salem-Keizer Volcanoes News Release
The Volcanoes gained another 2015 Draft selection on Sunday, adding outfielder Steven Duggar. A sixth-round selection out of Clemson University, Duggar had a career year for the Tigers last season. He hit .304 with 12 doubles, five home runs, 43 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.Â
The opportunity to pursue my life long dream came true today. Thank you to everyone who has helped me get here! #CaliBound #gigantes #SF - Steven Duggar (@SDugg_9) June 10, 2015
He is also known for his defense, committing only six errors in 61 games last season while also sporting one of the strongest throwing arms on his former club. He started every game of his college career in right field for Clemson.Â
He was a tremendous student as well, finishing as an All-ACC Academic selection twice in his career.Â
Duggar was the second player the Giants drafted from Clemson - the first being Jalen Miller in the third round.Â
Duggar will be in uniform June 28 and officially join the active roster on June 29.Â
