YAKIMA, Wash. - Adam Kudryk tossed seven strong innings and Jimmy Comerota hit a two-run first inning homer, lifting the Yakima Bears to a 4-1 victory over the Boise Hawks, before 1,393 fans at County Stadium.

The win for the Bears ended a three-game losing streak and was their third-straight against Boise on their home diamond.

Comerota's homer in the first gave Yakima a 2-0 lead, with an RBI ground out in the third by Henry Zabala and a Westly Moss sacrifice fly in the fourth pushing the lead to 4-0. Boise would get a run back on a Ryan Cuneo RBI single in the sixth, but the Bears bullpen retired all six men to preserve the win.

Kudryk allowed just six hits and struck out four to pick up the victory, while Justin Albert logged his fourth save. Garrett Weber went 3-for-3 in the win for Yakima.

Wes Darvill had three doubles in the loss for the Hawks, while Colin Richardson and Su-Min Jung combined to toss four scoreless innings of relief.

Game 2 of the series is tomorrow night at 8:05 p.m. (MT), with Willengton Cruz meeting Alex Capaul.
