The Portland Winterhawks (2-3-0-1) wrapped up preseason play with a 8-3 loss against the Seattle Thunderbirds. Though six games, the Hawks scored 24 goals which is the third most in the Western Hockey League.
After getting in a 5-0 hole in the first period, the Winterhawks went blow for blow the rest of the game with the Thunderbirds. Mason Mannek scored his second goal of the preseason, while Lane Gilliss and Jaydon Dureau each netted their third goals of September in the third period.
Dante Giannuzzi allowed seven goals on 25 shots and Lochlan Gordan made three saves in just over eight minutes of playing time.
