FLORENCE, KY - The Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, came up on the short end of a pitcher's duel tonight as they fell to the Florence Freedom 2-1 to lose their fourth straight game.

Kyle Hassna shined in his first professional start, but earned the no decision after pitching five innings where he allowed just four hits and no runs while walking four and striking out three batters.

The Aviators broke the stalemate in the top of the sixth inning as Tanner Witt singled and stole a base before he was driven in by Michael Hur to make the score 1-0.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Eric Cendejas gave up a two-out triple to Buddy Sosnoskie that scored Gaby Juarbe to tie the game at one. The very next batter, All-Star Sam Eberle, singled to drive in Sosnoskie to give the Freedom the 2-1 advantage.

The Aviators will be back in action tomorrow night for the second game of the three-game series against the Florence Freedom. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:35 p.m. Eastern Time, 5:35 p.m. Rockford time and can be heard on the Meridix Network.
