Harrisburg Senators News Release
Today's Game... The Senators begin a very short three-game road trip tonight in Connecticut to take on the Defenders. The AA affiliate of the San Francisco Giants comes into the game having lost their past seven games and are just 5 - 21 since May 30th. RHP Justin Echols starts for the Senators and is coming off his shortest outing of the year, lasting just 3.2 innings against Altoona last Tuesday. RHP James Garcia is on the mound for Connecticut.
Last Time Out... The Senators swept the Binghamton Mets in a rain shortened doubleheader on Monday afternoon at Commerce Bank Park. Kip Bouknight pitched a complete game in game one striking out eight and allowing just four hits. The Senators scored three times in the third inning then capped their scoring on a solo home run by Dan DeMent in the fourth. In game one the Mets had two runners on base in an inning just one time off of Bouknight. In game two, Oscar Alvarez went the distance in the rain shortened five inning affair. Alvarez scattered four hits and Kory Casto provided the only run the Senators would need with a first inning home off of Mets starter Miguel Pinango. The Senators tacked on two more before the rains came in the top of the sixth inning.
Since June 3rd... The last of the moves made over a ten-day period came to an end on June 3rd with Prentice Redman joining the Senators. The Sens had fallen to .500 at 27-27 after having lost to Binghamton on Friday night, June 2nd, but beginning with the game on June 3rd the Senators have gone 15-6.
