Curve and Baysox rained out onTuesday night

ALTOONA - Tuesday's series opener between Curve and Bowie Baysox was postponed due to heavy rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday, August 22nd at 5:35 PM.

Fans holding tickets to Friday's game can exchange their rain checks for tickets of equal or lesser value to any remaining 2006 Altoona Curve regular season home game, based upon availability. Rain checks can be redeemed at the Blair County Ballpark Ticket Office. Fans requesting information on how to exchange their rain checks can call the Ticket Office at (814) 943-5400 or toll-free at (877) 99-CURVE.

Both managers will use the same arms that were scheduled to pitch in Tuesday's game on Wednesday night when the series will open at 7:05 PM. Landon Jacobsen (7-5, 3.19) will take the mound for the Curve against Baysox right-hander James Johnson (6-3, 3.92). Ballpark gates open at 6:00 p.m.

Sherman Hemsley will be on hand Wednesday as he continues the Curve's Retro Celebrity Series. Hemsley played the famous character of "George Jefferson" on five different TV shows and will be at the ballpark throughout the game.

Hemsley will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, meeting with fans and signing autographs. Wednesday is also Blair Candy Bingo Night, giving fans the chance to win fabulous prizes during the game.
