Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

Moose Jaw Warriors General Manager Alan Millar has announced that the team has acquired 20-year-old forward Owen Hardy from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a 6th round pick in 2023.

"We are very pleased to add Owen to our hockey club.  Owen is a character guy who brings a tremendous amount of leadership and experience to our group," said Millar.  "He plays a complete, hard, power forward game.  Along with Jadon Joseph, their playoff experience last year is a benefit to our club."

Hardy, 6'2", 205lbs, is from Nanaimo, BC and is in his fifth and final season in the WHL.  Through three games this season he has two assists.  In 64 games in 2018 - 2019, Hardy had nine goals and 21 points.  In the 2019 WHL Playoffs, Hardy had five goals, seven assists, 12 points, and was a +14 in 22 games to help the Giants capture the Western Conference Championship and reach Game 7 of the WHL Final.

Originally selected by the Giants in the 2nd round, 42nd overall at the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, Hardy has played in 233 WHL regular-season games, all with Vancouver, and has 30 goals, 39 assists, 69 points, and 174 penalty minutes.

Hardy is expected to join the Warriors for Sunday's game against the Regina Pats.  Tickets are available at the Mosaic Place Box Office or online at www.mjwarriors.ca.
