HarbourCats Make Roster Moves

June 27, 2014 - West Coast League (WCL)
Victoria HabourCats News Release

VICTORIA, B.C. - The Victoria HarbourCats have made two roster moves as they prepare for a road series this weekend in Kelso/Longview, Washington, against the West Division-rival Cowlitz Black Bears.

The HarbourCats have reduced the roster to 33 players, releasing catcher Gunner Pollman (Sacramento State) and right-handed pitcher Brandon Feldman (Otero JC). Pollman will be joining a team in the California Collegiate League, while Feldman's landing spot for the rest of the summer is unknown.

Pollman, a strong defensive catcher, played in nine games and was 2-23 (.087) with 11 strikeouts. Feldman appeared in two games in relief, throwing 1.2 innings pitched, walking one batter and giving up one hit. He asked for his release for personal reasons.

"With our depth at certain positions, these are moves designed to help these players get the experience they are looking for this summer," said General Manager Jim Swanson.

The team roster can be found here: http://harbourcats.com/team/roster/

STARTING ROTATION - The HarbourCats will use RHP Alex Garcia (1-0, 0.00), RHP Alex Rogers (1-1, 1.63) and RHP Andrew Nelson (0-3, 5.17) as starting pitchers, respectively, in games in Cowlitz starting Friday, then going Saturday and Sunday. The HarbourCats are next home on Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday next week. The HarbourCats are 3-3 on the road this season, and despite recent struggles sit just 4.5 games out of first place in the highly competitive West Division.
