Yakima Valley Pippins News Release
KELOWNA, BC - The Yakima Valley Pippins picked up their first sweep of the summer with a 6-1 win over the Kelowna Falcons Thursday night at Elks Stadium.
The Pippins made an early statement, sending the entire order to the plate, and scoring three runs in the top of the 1st against Kelowna starter Jeremy Alderman.
The visitors from Yakima Valley scored three more times in the 3 rd to take a 6-0 lead, including an RBI double from Alex Guenette, his first RBI and double since joining the team this week.
That would be plenty of support for Brandon Williams, who was dominant in his third start of the year. Williams retired the first 11 hitters he faced, and only allowed four hits in his 7 2/3 innings of work, improving to 3-1 on the season with the victory.
The Pippins won their 8th game out of 10 with the win, and return home for another six-game homestand against Kitsap and Walla Walla starting Friday night at 7:05 p.m.
