
Elks beat Sweets 14-4

The Bend Elks parlayed six Walla Walla errors, eleven timely hits and effective pitching into a 14-4 victory over the visiting Sweets in a West Coast League game at Vince Genna Stadium Friday evening.
The Elks, now with a four-game winning streak, advance to 10-10 while Walla Walla drops to 6-11. Michael Bennett earned the win in relief for the Elks while Sweet starter Connor O'Neil received the loss.
Josh Cushing and Nick Osuna ripped bases-loaded clearing doubles in the seventh and eighth innings, respectively, to highlight the robust Elk offense. Zach Close and Osuna each had three hits for the Elks while Sam Finfer contributed two RBIs.
Bend and Walla Walla square off in game two of the three-game series on Free Hot Dog night at Vince Genna Stadium Saturday evening at 6:35 pm.
