2018 Bend Elks WCL Schedule Released

November 15, 2017 - West Coast League (WCL)
Bend Elks News Release

The WCL unveiled its official 2018 schedule today, setting the stage for a 14th season of West Coast League baseball.

Established in 2005 and located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, the premier summer collegiate baseball circuit west of the Mississippi showcases top collegiate baseball players from across North America in 11 markets throughout Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, Canada.

Opening Day 2018 is set for Friday, June 1 and will feature three 2017 playoff teams hosting opening night games - the defending North champion Victoria HarbourCats entertain Wenatchee; Kelowna welcomes Bellingham; and Yakima Valley hosts Walla Walla.

The league's most recent addition - the Portland Pickles - play their inaugural WCL contest at home on Friday, June 1 versus the Port Angeles Lefties at Walker Stadium in SE Portland's Lents Park.

This year's 54-game regular-season schedule was extended by three days, and concludes on Wednesday, August 8. With the addition of the Portland Pickles to the WCL South, the Yakima Valley Pippins were moved to the North Division and as a result Walla Walla was moved to the South.

This summer's WCL All-Star Game will be hosted by the Port Angeles Lefties on Tuesday, July 17 at Civic Field.

Many member clubs add non-counting, non-league games to their schedules. These out-of-league contests get added after the release of the official WCL schedule.
