Asheville Tourists News Release

ASHEVILLE- Quincy Hamilton made a statement on the first pitch Winston-Salem threw Friday night; a pitch that he parked over the wall in right-center to give the Asheville Tourists a 1-0 lead. Hamilton added another Home Run later in the game and the Tourists cruised to a 14-8 win over the Dash.

Hamilton had plenty of help from his running mates in the batting order. Michael Sandle hit an RBI groundout in the second and Kenedy Corona added a two-run single. In the third, Chad Stevens hit a two-out RBI double. C.J. Stubbs followed it up with a two-run Home Run to left.

The Dash cracked the scoreboard in the top of the fourth with two runs; however, J.C. Correa and Luis Santana both singled ahead of Zach Daniels who parked a three-run Homer over the batter's eye. Asheville led 10-2 after four.

Santana hit an RBI single to go along with Hamilton's second Home Run in the sixth inning and the Tourists led 12-2 after six. Correa and Daniels both recorded RBI hits in the eighth as well. Luis Guerrero was one of five Tourists players to finish the game with multiple hits.

Asheville pitching was spearheaded by Rhett Kouba. The right-hander earned a win by tossing five innings and limited the Dash to a pair of hits. Cole McDonald tossed a scoreless inning in relief and Danny Cody helped clean things up late to finish out the game.

The Tourists now hold a three-games-to-one lead in the series but will be looking to do more damage over the weekend as they approach a .500 record in the second half.

Tourists Game Recaps are presented by Jackson Electrical Contractors, Inc.
