CINCINNATI, OH - Goaltender Frederic Cassivi stopped all 28 shots he faced, leading the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 2-0 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Wednesday night at the Cincinnati Gardens.
The Bulldogs record through 32 games now stands at 12 wins, 14 losses, 4 overtime losses, and 2 shootout losses.
After a scoreless first period, the Mighty Ducks opened the scoring at the 4:10 mark of the second period. Cincinnati's Joffrey Lupul scored his team leading 11th goal of the season by sweeping a rebound into the Bulldogs goal. Zenon Konopka and Michael Holmqvist picked up assists on the play.
Cory Pecker would add an empty net goal for the Mighty Ducks with just 35 seconds remaining in regulation time to seal the victory for Cincinnati. Earning assists were Sheldon Brookbank and Chris Kunitz. The goal scored by Pecker was his first of the season.
Despite taking the loss, Bulldogs goaltender Yann Danis made 34 saves for Hamilton. Danis' record now stands at 9 wins, 8 losses and 2 shootout losses on the season.
Both teams did not score on the power play. Hamilton went 0 for 5, while Cincinnati went 0 for 6.
The Hamilton Bulldogs next action will take place on Thursday, December 30th when they visit .the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center.
