Hamilton Recalled To Carolina

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that right wing Jeff Hamilton has been recalled by the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League.

Hamilton, 30, returns to Carolina after clearing NHL re-entry waivers at 12:00 pm on Monday. The Englewood, Ohio native had nine points (3 goals, 6 assists) and a +3 rating in nine games played for Albany, his first American Hockey League action in nearly two years. Hamilton was reassigned from Carolina to Albany on February 26th and has 19 points (6 goals, 13 assists) in 52 games for the Hurricanes this season. Since completing his collegiate career at Yale in 2001, he has scored 66 points (26 goals, 40 assists) in 136 NHL regular-season games with the New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks and Carolina. The Hurricanes signed Hamilton as a free agent on July 1, 2007.

The River Rats return to action on Wednesday, March 19th for a 7:00 pm face off against their East Division rivals, the Hershey Bears, at the Times Union Center. It will be their last home game of March, not playing another game in Albany until Wednesday, April 9th against Norfolk.
