The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled defenseman BORIS VALABIK (VA-lah-bik) from the Chicago Wolves.

The 22-year-old blueliner will be available to make his National Hockey League debut when the Thrashers battle the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wachovia Center on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Atlanta's first round pick, 10th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, VALABIK ranks third in the American Hockey League with a Wolves-leading +23 plus/minus rating and paces the squad with 191 penalty minutes in 54 contests.

He ranked second on the club with 37 penalty minutes and dished out one assist in eight outings during his professional postseason debut to help Chicago reach the 2007 Western Conference Final.

Prior to turning pro, VALABIK notched 29 points (4G, 25A) and 725 penalty minutes in 163 outings spanning three seasons with the Ontario Hockey League's Kitchener Rangers (2003-2006).
