Kitchener, Ont. (Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006) - The Mississauga IceDogs were defeated 4-3 by the Kitchener Rangers in a tight-checking affair this evening. The main catalysts for the Rangers were forwards Matt Halischuk and Kevin Henderson, who provided 3 points and a natural hat trick, respectively. As a result, the IceDogs record shifts to 16-10-0-2 on the year.

Jadran Beljo got the IceDogs on the board at 10:48 of the 1st period off of Michael Swift and Chris Lawrence feeds. That seemed to spur on Henderson as he contributed his three goals between 15:42 of the 1st period and 1:41 of the 2nd. Two of the goals came on the power-play and the assists were credited to Halischuk (2), Jean-Michel Rizk and Nazem Kadri.

Oskar Osala got the IceDogs to within a goal five minutes later when he lit the lamp off of a Drew Schiestel pass. However, Halischuk restored the home squad's two-goal lead at 14:54 of the 3rd period with Dan Kelly gobbling up the lone assist.

Travis Fuller notched the IceDogs third goal with 20 seconds remaining, on the power-play, off of Jordan Skellett and Stefan Legein passes. However, that's as close as Mississauga could get.

Lucas Lobsinger finished the night with 34 saves for the IceDogs while John Murray produced 27 stops for the Rangers. The IceDogs finished the night 1 for 5 on the power-play while Kitchener was 2 for 7. The game's three stars were Henderson (1st), Halischuk (2nd) and Legein (3rd).

The IceDogs return home to host the Brampton Battalion tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. They will venture back out on the road to battle the London Knights on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and the Oshawa Generals on Sunday night at 6:05 p.m.

IceDogs tickets can be purchased by contacting the team's office at 905-502-7788, by calling Ticketmaster at 416-872-5000, online at www.ticketmaster.ca or by stopping by the Hershey Centre box office during regular business hours.
