
Hagerstown Stuns Delmarva on Walk-Off Wild Pitch

HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Shorebirds took a 3-2 into the bottom of the ninth inning and the bases were empty with two outs, but Hagerstown walked-off with a win for the second night in a row. Three singles loaded the bases, followed by a passed ball and wild pitch to baffle the 'Birds, 4-3 at Municipal Stadium on Friday night.
Ademar Rifaela and Ricardo Andujar each homered for the Shorebirds, with Yermin Mercedes' RBI single providing the other Delmarva run.
Mike Costello, Patrick Baker and Mike Burke pitched well over the first eight innings of the ball game. They combined to allow two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.
Elias Pinales came on for the ninth and got the first two hitters to ground out and fly out, before the game came undone.
The series continues on Friday night at Municipal Stadium at 7:05 pm. Brendan Gulick will have the broadcast beginning with Shorebirds On-Deck at 6:50 pm on Fox Sports AM 960 and online at theshorebirds.com.
