WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - Despite leading early after the second inning, the Lexington Legends fell in game two, 5-3 to the Hagerstown Suns. The Legends' record is now 9-7 while the Suns' record improves to 5-11. AJ Bogucki (1-0) was awarded the win tossing 5.0 innings allowing one run on two hits while striking out five and walking one. Andres Sotillet (0-2) was given the loss pitching 5.2 innings allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out seven and walking one. Janser Lara started for the Legends and pitched 3.1 innings allowing one run on three hits while walking one and striking out four.

The Legends got on the board early in the first inning. Cal Jones led off the inning with a single then advanced to second on a groundout by Marten Gasparini. With Nick Pratto at the plate, Jones then advanced to third on a balk by Carlos Acevedo. Pratto then singled Jones home with a groundball into left field and the Legends led 1-0.

Leading off in the bottom of the second, MJ Melendez blasted his second homerun of the season over the left field wall, extending Lexington's lead to 2-0.

Hagerstown's bats were quiet until the fourth inning. Juan Soto reached on a leadoff triple down the right field line then an RBI single by Nick Banks scored Soto and the Suns were on the board 2-1.

In the top of the seventh for Hagerstown, Alex Flores led off with a strikeout then Aldrem Corredor hit a soft line drive to centerfield for a single. Corredor advanced to second on a balk by the pitcher, Sotillet. Luis Garcia then lined an RBI single to centerfield, scoring Corredor and tying the game at 2-2. Yasel Antuna then stepped up and hit a single to left field, advancing Garcia to second. With runners at first and second, Soto blasted his fifth home run of the season down the left field line, and the Suns led 5-2.

Seuly Matias hit a leadoff home run to left field in the ninth, cutting the lead to 5-3, but the Legends were unable to score anymore runs.

The Legends and Suns meet tomorrow at 2:05 p.m. for the series finale at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. Lexington will send RHP Nolan Watson (0-1, 9.49 ERA) to the mound to face Hagerstown's LHP Alex Troop (1-1, 3.38 ERA).

Children 12 and under will get in for FREE thanks to JIF! The gates will also open 30-minutes early (12:30 p.m.) for Playtime on the Outfield. Kids and their families can play a game of catch on the same field as the professional ball players. After the final out, kids will be welcomed on the field to run the bases.
