San Diego Gulls News Release
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls are getting set for the regular season, which starts Saturday. While that in itself takes a lot of time, the players and staff members continue to make their presence felt around the community. Here's a look back at some of the past month's events:
Sept. 2 - BJ MacPherson, Gulls Vice President Jeff Longo and Baby Gull all appeared on the Muscular Dystrophy Association Telethon. The trio presented MDA with an $8,600 check, which was raised during the "Jersey's Off Their Backs Night" held last season.
Sept. 20 - Longo and Gulls Director of Public Relations Tera Black attended the United Cerebral Palsy Celebrity Waiters Luncheon at Paradise Point. The fundraising event featured local and Hollywood celebrities as waiters and auctioneers.
Sept. 21 - Longo attended the City of Hope Fundraising Dinner. The event raised approximately $60,000 for pediatric cancer research. Longo is a member of the executive committee for the charity.
Sept. 20 - 22 - Gulls staff and Gulls Girls set up camp at the Thunderboat Regatta on Mission Bay. In addition to the boat races, the three-day event featured food, entertainment and local vendor booths.

Oct. 4 - Gulls Staff participated in the Ronald McDonald House Charities Golf Tournament.
