It's that's time of year again! The Generals kick off their 2002-2003 season with a pair of road games this weekend. Greensboro will face the Lexington Men O'War for a pair of games at Rupp Arena this Friday and Saturday at 7:30. The Generals start the regular season with a five game road trip. The Generals next home game is their home opener on Friday, October 25 at 7:30 against the Reading Royals. Opening night is Hooters Magnetic Schedule Night, with the first 2,000 fans entering the building receiving a Generals 2002-2003 schedule. All games this can be heard on the Generals new flagship radio station, WPET AM-950. You can also hear the games online by logging on to www.greensborogenerals.com.
LAST WEEK: 10/4 GREENSBORO 1, ROANOKE 3 (Pre-Season) ¨ Generals defenseman Geno Parrish tied the game with a third period goal, but the Express took the lead late in the contest and added an empty netter to seal the victory.
10/4 GREENSBORO 2, CHARLOTTE 1 (Pre-Season) ¨ The Generals defeated their in-state rival behind a goals from Parrish and Andrei Lupandin. Daniel Berthiaume was strong between the pipes, saving 23 of 24 shots to earn the victory.
10/4 GREENSBORO 1, GREENVILLE 2 (Pre-Season) ¨ Geno Parrish's third goal of the "Dog Day Challenge" round-robin tournament was not enough for the Generals.
10/7 CHARLOTTE 3, GREENSBORO 4 (OT) (Pre-Season) ¨ The Generals overcame an early 2-0 deficit to beat the Checkers for the second time in the pre-season. David Whitworth cut the gap to 2-1 in the first period. Newcomer Matt Turek then single-handedly put the Generals in the lead with a goal in the second and third period. After Charlotte forced overtime, the Generals pulled out the victory as Shane Campbell swept in a rebound of a Chris Bell shot. Bell finished the night with three assists, while Daniel Berthiaume stopped 27 shots for the win.

Wednesday: 9:00 â 11:00 @ IceHouse of Greensboro.
Thursday: 10:00 â 11:30 @ IceHouse of Greensboro.
Friday: 10:00 â 10:30 @ Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY.
THE FRONT LINE: The first Generals coaches show of the season is next Monday night from 6:00 â 7:00. The Front Line will air live from Jack Astor's Bar and Grill on High Point Rd. with Generals head coach Rick Adduono joining broadcaster Arley Johnson. Everyone is encouraged join in on the fun for the premier show.
