Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Charleston, WV: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, won 5-1 against the West Virginia Power on Sunday afternoon.

The GreenJackets would get off to a great start on a hot day in Charleston. With Manuel Geraldo on at second, a double from Jacob Gonzalez would bring him around to score. Then Logan Baldwin would knock in Gonzalez after a single into right field. The GreenJackets would have a 2-0 lead after the top of the second inning.

This would remain the score until the GreenJackets would add to their lead in the final two innings. Ryan Kirby would knock in Geraldo to score one in the eighth inning. Then a two-run home run from Baldwin in the top of the ninth inning would put Augusta out in front 5-0. The Power would put up one run in the bottom of the ninth inning, but it wouldn't be enough as the GreenJackets won 5-1.

On the mound, Norwith Gudino was fantastic in his first start for Augusta. Gudino went 6 1/3 scoreless innings, only giving up only five hits. He also struck out three Power Batters.

Now the GreenJackets will head back to SRP Park to start a three-game series with the Hagerstown Suns. Promotions include, North Augusta Community Night, Richmond County Community Night, and Live Healthy night.
