Grrrowl snap 4-game skid with 2-0 win over Men\'O War

LEXINGTON, KY – For just the third time in the last 12 games, the Greenville Grrrowl scored first and, shutout the Lexington Men'O War, 2-0, in front of 2,312 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky on Friday.

Following a scoreless first period MATT DEMARSKI opened the scoring with his 15th goal of the season after a poor decision by Lexington defenseman Ben Storey to skate in front of his own net. The Grrrowl led 1-0 after 40 minutes of play. Demarski added his 2nd of the game and team-leading 16th goal of the season at 12:16 of the third period, and the Grrrowl blanked Lexington 2-0. JAYME PLATT stopped all 28 shots for his 3rd shutout and 9 th win of the season. Lexington outshot Greenville, 28-25.

The Grrrowl, who have played 7 of their last 8 games on the road, return home tomorrow (Saturday) night to host the Southeast Division-rival Columbia Inferno at 7:35 PM (Newsradio 1330 & 950, WORD). The final game before the annual All-Star break is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the BI-LO Center as Greenville hosts Columbus at 3:05 PM.
