Grrrowl drop 5-2 decision to the Pee Dee Pride

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Grrrowl scored the first two goals of Sunday afternoon's game at the BI-LO Center, but the Pee Dee Pride rallied with 5-unanswered goals on their way to a 5-2 victory in front of 4,421.

ERIC LIND opened the scoring at 6:09 of the first period, and MATT DEMARSKI gave Greenville a 2-0 lead with a shorthanded goal at 13:10 of the opening stanza. The Pee Dee rally started when Preston Mizzi pulled the Pride within one 1:39 into the second period. Mike Glumac tied the game at 2-2 at 18:06, and :75 seconds later Eric Naud gave Pee Dee a 3-2 lead at 19:11. Ryan Knox and Glumac added insurance goals in the third period as Pee Dee beat Greenville for the 4th time in four tries this season. MICHAEL GARNETT recorded 22 saves in a losing effort as Greenville was outshot 29-27.

The Grrrowl open another 4-game road trip in Reading, PA on Friday with a game against the Royals at 7:05 PM (Newsradio 1330 & 950, WORD). The next home game is scheduled for Saturday, January 18th against the Columbia Inferno at 7:35 PM.
