
Grizzlies to open 2006 season at Grizzlies Stadium

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Grizzlies will open up the 2006 home season with an eight-game homestand tomorrow at 7:05 p.m., first taking on the first four games versus the Tacoma Rainiers and the remaining four versus the Las Vegas 51s.
Opening Night at Grizzlies Stadium will be a celebration for the entire Central Valley as the Grizzlies return for another season. Pre-game festivities include three different bands and a barbershop quartet performing near main stadium entrances, face painters, balloon artists, free thunderstix provided by ESPN Radio 1430 and much more. Opening Night will also feature the debut of the new team mascot, who will take over for Wild Thing after seven memorable seasons. A post-game fireworks extravaganza will end the evening, and all fans leaving the stadium will receive an invitation to the wedding ceremony of Wild and Wilda Thing scheduled after Sunday's afternoon ballgame.
Baseball collectors and Grizzlies fans alike should return on Saturday night for the first of 19 giveaways this season. The first 2,500 fans to enter the gates will receive a Todd Linden Figurine giveaway, presented by Carl's Jr. All fans attending Sunday's 2:05pm contest will receive a 2006 Magnet Schedule, presented by Frazee Paint and Sporting News Radio 1550 AM, the radio home of the Fresno Grizzlies.
The homestand continues throughout the week with mid-week specials. Monday Madness, presented by Wienerschnitzel and Mega 97.9, returns on April 17. Fans can purchase two Field Level Reserved tickets, two hotdogs and two sodas for $14.
Tuesday, April 18 kicks off eight games throughout the season that will offer Two-for-Tuesday, presented by Carl's Jr. and 95.7 The Fox. Fans can pick up their "Two-For-Tuesday" ticket vouchers at participating Carl's Jr. restaurants good for a buy one, get one free ticket special for Tuesday home games (excluding July 4) this season.
Carl's Jr. continues their sponsorship on Wednesday, April 19 with "Making the Grade" Days. The 12:05 pm game start will give thousands of Valley students and teachers a chance to end another successful school year with a Grizzlies game, a hot dog and a lemonade, all sponsored by Carl's Jr.
Thursday's game against the Las Vegas 51s is Thirsty Thursdays, where fans can purchase 12 oz. sodas and draft beers for just $1, courtesy of 104.1FM, the Valley's Alternative Station.
On Friday, April 21 the first 2,500 fans can enjoy the game in comfort with a plush Seat Cushion giveaway, presented by AT&T. Game start is 7:05pm.
