Round Rock Express News Release

Oklahoma City, OK) - The Round Rock Express had what they thought was a comfortable 10-2 lead over the Oklahoma RedHawks going into the bottom of the ninth inning tonight at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. The RedHawks manage to close out the ninth by picking up four runs, enough to scare the E-Train, but the Express held on to a 10-6 victory in Oklahoma

Hitting stars abounded for the Express, as they put together two, four run innings. Round Rock hitters pounded out four runs on five hits in the sixth, untying the 2-2 score. The big blow in that inning was third baseman Cody Ransom's two run single. E-Train hitters came alive again in the eighth off reliever Jayson Durocher, scoring four more runs, including a two run single from shortstop Jesse Garcia and RBI triples from Charlton Jimerson and Mike Rodriguez.

Express starter Chris Sampson notched his first AAA win, pitching five and a third innings, surrendering only one unearned run, striking out five, and walking zero batters on the night. Reliever Joe Valentine came in to pitch two scoreless innings in the 10-6 win Express win.

Round Rock concludes its eight game season opening road trip with a 7:05 start on Thursday evening in Oklahoma City. The Express return home to The Dell Diamond for a 7:05 Friday evening match up against the Iowa Cubs.
