The Situation
The Grizzlies enter the week having won three-straight games. It marks the second time in the last three weeks that Utah enters a week winners of three-straight.
Playoff Situation
The Grizzlies magic number for clinching their fifth consecutive playoff berth is five points and the earliest that they can clinch is Friday in Bakersfield. Utah trails Stockton by four points for the fifth playoff seed and leads Idaho by three points for the sixth playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Entering The Week
Mitch Wahl has goals in three-straight games and six points in his last three games. Paul McIlveen leads Utah with 28 goals and 60 points in 56 games. Newly signed free agent Ross Carlson has two goals and five assists in his last five games. Dave Strathman enters the week on a four-game scoring streak with two goals and three assists. The defenseman has two goals and seven assists in his last twelve games.
New Guys
Kevin Colley acquired two defensemen just prior to the ECHL's trade deadline Thursday. Josh Burrows was a plus-two in his first three games with Utah and Evan Stephens scored his first goal Saturday and was a plus-two in two games.
Rookie Rolling
C.J. Severyn, who battled a series of injuries until rejoining the lineup for good February 10, has three assists in his last four games.
2-1 Lead
Utah has won six-straight games, when they break a 1-1 tie with a goal.
Three Goals Or Less
Utah has allowed three goals or less in four-straight games and is 3-1 in that stretch. It marks the third time this year that the Grizzlies have gone at least four-straight games of allowing three goals or less.
Home Finale
Utah will play seven of their final nine games on the road with the home finales being Friday, March 23 and Saturday, March 24 when they will host Colorado at 7 p.m. for Fan Appreciation Weekend.
