After three straight victories last week, the Gladiators (36-17-7-4) have regained sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference and the South Division of the ECHL with 83 points. The Gladiators collected their seventh shutout victory on Saturday over the Cincinnati Cyclones in a 2-0 win. On Sunday, Gwinnett defeated the division rival Greenville Road Warriors 4-3 in a shootout victory. The Gladiators will play three straight games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center to wrap up the regular season home schedule this week.

Cincinnati Cyclones Preview:

The Cincinnati Cyclones head down South to the Arena at Gwinnett Center for the second time this season to battle the Gladiators. The Gladiators are 2-1-0-0 against Cincinnati. The Cyclones are second in the North Division posting a record of 29-23-2-7 (67 points). Forward Mathieu Aubin is tops for Cincinnati in scoring with 58 points (25 goals, 33 assists) and a +19 on the season. Former Stingray Nick Tabisz has collected two goals and three assists against the Gladiators this season. In the past two games against Cincinnati, netminder Ryan Zapolski led the Gladiators to two straight 2-0 shutouts over the Cyclones. Gwinnett's forward Jonathan Parker has five points (three goals, one assist) in three games against Cincinnati.

Greenville Road Warriors Preview:

The Gladiators battle the Road Warriors for the 15th time this season on Saturday. Greenville is currently second in the South Division at 81 points (38-21-2-3) on the season. Gwinnett collected two straight victories over Greenville last week. The Road Warriors leading scorer with 74 points, Justin Bowers has notched three goals and 12 assists in 13 games against the Gladiators. Brendan Connolly and Brandon Wong each have 24 goals on the season for the Road Warriors. Brett Robinson has tallied a total of five goals against Gwinnett, two proving to be the game-winners. The Road Warriors netminder Jason Missiaen has had seven starts against Gwinnett, posted a 3-3-0-1 record with a 2.67 goals against and .910 save percentage.

Tuesday, March 6: Gwinnett Gladiators, 3, Greenville Road Warriors, 1 - W

The Gwinnett Gladiators posted a 3-1 win over the Greenville Road Warriors on Tuesday night at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC. Gwinnett overcame a 1-0 deficit with three straight goals, including the game winner from Andy Brandt, in the third period. Ryan Zapolski notched his third straight win for Gwinnett as he finished with 31 saves for the Gladiators.

Saturday, March 10: Gwinnett Gladiators, 2, Cincinnati Cyclones, 0 - W

"ªGoaltender Ryan Zapolski posted his second shutout as a Gwinnett Gladiator in the 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones with 30 saves Saturday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Forwards David Brownschidle and Nikita Kashirsky each had a goal in the victory. The Gladiators still remain in first place in the Eastern Conference of the ECHL with 81 points (35-17-7-4) on the season.

Sunday, March 11: Gwinnett Gladiators, 4, Greenville Road Warriors, 3 - SOW

The Gwinnett Gladiators triumphed over the Greenville Road Warriors in a 4-3 shootout victory Sunday afternoon at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Gladiators extended their lead in the Eastern Conference of the ECHL to 83 points (36-17-7-4) in the win. Nikita Kashirsky had the game-winner in the second round of the shootout. Forward Tyler Kindle notched a goal and an assist on the night.

News & Notes:

Home Sweet Home: The Gladiators continue to have success this season at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Gladiators notched their 24th home win of the season with Sunday's 4-3 shootout win over the Greenville Road Warriors. The Gladiators finish out their regular season home schedule at the Arena at Gwinnett Center with their next three games. Gwinnett has earned a 24-6-0-3 record this season on home ice. The Gladiators collected 12 straight home wins earlier this season to set a new team record for most consecutive home wins while the Gladiators went 13 games without a regulation loss, also a new all time team record. The streak was snapped February 29th by the South Carolina Stingrays in a 5-2 loss. The 12 game home-winning streak topped a nine game winning streak between January 14th and February 17th of 2006 and a nine game home winning streak while in Mobile from February 9th through March 31st of 2001

Seven Straight! Gladiators Forwards Bryan Brutlag notched his 18th goal of the season in the Gladiators 3-1 victory over the Greenville Road Warriors on March 6th. His marker extended his point-scoring streak to seven consecutive games. The Lakeville, Minnesota native collected 10 points (five goals, five assists) in his seven-game point-scoring streak.

Blanked! The Gladiators earned their seventh shutout of the season in a 2-0 shutout over the Cincinnati Cyclones on March 10th. Gwinnett leads the ECHL in shutouts this season with seven. Jeff Jakaitis has posted five shutouts this season for Gwinnett, while Ryan Zapolski has chipped in a pair of shutouts.

Jumping Right In: Acquired in a trade with the Utah Grizzlies on Monday, March 5th, Jordan Foreman appeared in his first game with Gwinnett Saturday night. The forward posted an assist for Gwinnett in the win over the Cincinnati Cyclones. With Gwinnett, Utah and Stockton, Foreman has earned 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) in 41 ECHL games this season.

Add Another: The Gladiators goaltender Ryan Zapolski notched his second career shutout with a 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Cyclones on March 10th. Zapolski finished the game with 30 saves for Gwinnett in the win. The netminder has earned two shutouts this season, bother over Cincinnati. His first of the season came back on February 22nd at the US Bank Arena.

Making Plays: Rookie forward Jonathan Parker had the opening goal for Gwinnett in a 4-3 win over the Greenville Road Warriors on Sunday. The Solana Beach, California native has posted at least a point in his last four games with six points (one goal, five assists) on the streak. In his 10 games as a Gladiator, Parker has 13 points for Gwinnett, including two multiple-point scoring games.

Friendly Friday: Friday, March 16th is the final Friendly Friday of the 2011-12 season. Specialty Jerseys and Live Post Game Auction: The Gladiators annual specialty jersey weekend is St. Patrick's Weekend, Friday, March 16th and Saturday, March 17th. The Gladiators will wear special St. Patrick's Themed Gladiators Jerseys at the game. Following Saturday night's game, the jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit the Gladiators Foundation for Kids and the Gladiators Pink in the Rink Fundraising Efforts.
