About Sunday Afternoon in South Carolina: Matt Scherer's third-period goal broke a 1-1 tie and helped the Stingrays defeat the Cyclones by a 3-1 final score in front of 3,689 at North Charleston Coliseum. Rookie David MacDonald scored his first professional goal for Cincinnati in the defeat.

About Saturday Night in Gwinnett: Behind 30 saves from goaltender Ryan Zapolski, the Gladiators shutout the Cyclones by a 2-0 final score in front of 7,829 at Gwinnett Center. It was just the third time this season that Cincinnati was blanked. Cyclones goalie Chet Pickard turned aside 25 saves in a losing effort.

About Wednesday Morning in Kalamazoo: Sam Ftorek lit the lamp at 1:17 of overtime to give the Wings a 6-5 come-from-behind victory over the Cyclones in front of 5,093 at Wings Stadium. Mathieu Aubin had his sixth multi-goal game and a three-point day in a losing effort for Cincinnati.

SHOTS FROM THE POINT:

Southern State of Mind: The Cyclones continue their season-long road trip this week as they'll play four games in the next seven days. Cincinnati will visit the Gwinnett Gladiators on Wednesday and Friday night before returning to South Carolina on Saturday. Jarrod Skalde's team will then wrap up their weekend with a visit to Greenville on Sunday afternoon.

Pelech Joins the 200 Club: Cyclones forward Mike Pelech is the latest Cyclone to join the "200 Club." On Sunday in South Carolina, he played in his 200th game as a professional. In his career, Pelech has amassed a total of 118 points (34 goals, 84 assists) - 49 of them with Cincinnati. The 3rd year pro is on pace to nearly double his previous career high (35 points).

Eastern Conference Playoff Race: The top eight teams at season's end earn a Kelly Cup Playoff bid.
