ECHL Announces Fines, Suspensions

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Monday announced the following fines and suspensions.

Florida's Piche fined, suspended

Florida's Sebastien Piche has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #623, Florida at Trenton, on March 11.

Piche was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding under Rule #41.5 at 15:43 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Piche will miss Florida's games at Reading on March 14 and at Elmira on March 16.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Greenville's Niemi fined, suspended

Greenville's Jyri Niemi has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #621, Greenville at Gwinnett, on March 11.

Niemi was assessed a major penalty for boarding under Rule #41.3 at 0:44 of the second period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 - Supplementary Discipline.

Niemi will miss Greenville's game at South Carolina on March 16.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players' Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player's Hardship Fund.

Chicago's DiDiomete suspended seven games

Chicago's Devin DiDiomete has been suspended seven games as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #604, Chicago at Kalamazoo, on March 9.

DiDiomete missed Chicago's game at Kalamazoo on March 10. He will miss Chicago's games vs. Wheeling (March 14), vs. Toledo (March 16), vs. Trenton (March 17 and March 18), at Cincinnati (March 21) and at Kalamazoo (March 23).
