Grizzlies Sign Shayne Taker; Wojtala, MacMillan Return

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced today that the team has signed defenseman Shayne Taker and re-signed forwards Camden Wojtala and Alex MacMillan for the 2015-2016 season.

Taker, 25, enters his second full pro season after splitting last year between the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones and the AHL's San Antonio Rampage. He led Cincinnati with a plus-14 and had three goals and 12 assists for 15 points in 58 games. He played four seasons of college hockey at Notre Dame and played five games with the Rampage after completing college in 2013-2014.

Wojtala, 24, enters his second season in Utah and was named the Grizzlies Most Improved Player over the course of his rookie season in 2014-2015. He had eight goals and 20 assists for 28 points in 62 games last year and was the team's fifth leading scorer the last month of the regular season with five goals and five assists for 10 points in 14 games. He was the Grizzlies sixth leading scorer after December 10 with eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points the final 47 games of the season.

MacMillan, 25, enters his first full professional season. He had three assists in eight games with Utah last year and was also called up to the AHL where he played six games with Anaheim's former AHL affiliate in Norfolk. The six-foot-four forward had 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points in 36 games during his final season of college hockey at American International College in 2014-2015.

The Grizzlies home opening weekend is Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 against the Allen Americans.
