Americans and Thunder Announce Preseason Date in Wichita
September 23, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans and Wichita Thunder announced today the two clubs will play a preseason game in Wichita on Saturday, October 9th at 4:05 pm at the Wichita Ice Center.
This will be the only preseason contest for Kelly Cup Champions who will meet their division rivals in an exhibition contest. Tickets are $12, for general admission seating. The Wichita Ice Center is located at 505 W. Maple, right across from Lawrence Dumont Stadium.
The Americans played Tulsa in a preseason game last year in Allen. This will be the first road preseason game for the Americans since the 2012 season when they played an exhibition game against the Texas Brahmas (CHL).
"We have a lot more competition for roster spots this season," said Americans Head Coach and GM Steve Martinson, so seeing guys in game action will determine who earns a job.
The Americans open the regular season on Friday, October 16th at home against former division rival Quad City. Tickets for banner raising night are on sale NOW at www.ticketmaster.com or call (972) 912-1000. Click here for the complete 2015-2016 Allen Americans regular season schedule.
