Grizzlies Re-Call Frantisek Lukes

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH * The Utah Grizzlies, American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes, announced today that they have re-called left wing Frantisek Lukes (LOO-kehsh) from the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.

Lukes, 22, has played in three games with Idaho posting one assist. Last season during his rookie campaign, the Kadan, Czech Republic native dressed in 63 games with Springfield (AHL) scoring eight goals with 20 assists. His 28 points and 20 assists led all Falcons* rookies.

The 5-9, 173-pound forward was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the eighth round (243rd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

During his junior career, Lukes played in 186 career games with the Toronto-St. Michael*s Majors of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) where he finished his career second on the club*s all-time point list with 193 points (77g, 116a).

Lukes will join the Grizzlies on their current three-game road trip that has a pair of games in Winnipeg against the Manitoba Moose remaining on November 4th and 6th at 6:30 PM (MT) each night.
