Grizzlies Greatest Night in Baseball Is Still On
August 31, 2012 - Frontier League (FL)
Gateway Grizzlies News Release
The playoff hungry Gateway Grizzlies wrap up the regular season August 31st-September 2nd at GCS Ballpark and close their 2012 campaign with the Greatest Night in Baseball.
The Grizzlies (55-38) welcome the Rockford RiverHawks (44-33) to Sauget for the weekend series while looking to lock up their first Frontier League playoff appearance since 2008.
Coupled with the outstanding play of the club, the weekend's festivities will lead to The Greatest Night In Baseball. Gateway has made this night an annual hub for a fun-filled evening loaded with entertainment, and despite the anticipated rain, the event is still scheduled to happen as planned.
"I have been watching Dave Murray all week," commented Gateway GM Steve Gomric. "It looks like the weather will give way and we will be ready to go for Sunday night. I'm looking forward to putting on the best show of the year, and because our magic number is just one, we can clinch our division as well. Just another opportunity for a tremendous fan experience at GCS Ballpark."
Starting at 6:05 PM, the night will include 27 prizes for 27 outs, TP the Ballpark, Post-game fireworks and much more presented by Dutch Hallow Supplies.
Seating is still available for the season finale, and Grizzlies Playoff Tickets are now on sale through the Grizzlies Ticket Office. To get tickets, call 618.337.3000 or go online to gatewaygrizzlies.com.
