
Clark's Gem Inches Freedom Closer to Playoffs

Evansville, IN - Andy Clark(2-1) turned in a complete game as he led the Florence Freedom(55-39) to a 7-2 win Friday night over the Evansville Otters(45-48).
It was the eighth complete game turned in by a Freedom pitcher this year. Clark allowed just five hits and two earned runs which all came in the ninth as he struck out five.
With the Freedom's fourth straight win and Schaumburg's 11-0 loss to Washington the Freedom now lead the Boomers by two games for the final wild card spot with two games to play.
John Malloy had a big night for the Freedom offense going 2-5 with 4 RBI. Malloy homered in the eight, his fifteenth of the season giving the Freedom a 4-0 lead. He also had a two run double in the ninth putting the Freedom ahead 6-0.
Pierre LePage contributed a 2-5 game which included a bases clearing two run double in the second giving the Freedom a 3-0 lead at the time. Junior Arrojo and Stephen Cardullo each produced 2-4 nights as well for Florence.
The Freedom and Otters continue their three game series in Evansville Saturday night. RHP Brad Allen (3-1, 1.05) takes the mound for Florence while Evansville will have RHP Bryce Morrow(8-7, 4.07) on the hill.
