
Grizzlies fall in front of record crowd

A Grizzlies-record 7,207 fans turned out to see the Grizzlies celebrate the 2003 season, and kick off the 2004 home season. Fans saw the RiverHawks score early and often taking down the Grizzlies 10-5 at GMC Stadium. The Grizzlies and RiverHawks are now tied for first in the Frontier League's West Division at 5-2.
Veteran pitcher Pete Buck started for the Grizzlies, hoping to win his 27th career game, but lasted just 2 1/3 innings. He gave up eight hits, five earned runs. He walked two, and struck out four in the run. He is now 0-1 on the season.
Phil Warren Daylon Monette led the way for the Grizzlies offensively. Warren was 3-5 with an RBI. Monette was 2-5 with a pair of RBIs. Tony Coyne and Todd Oetting both hit solo homeruns for the Grizzlies.
