
RiverHawks Hit Three Homeruns In 10-5 Win

SAUGET, Ill. â The Rockford RiverHawks won their fourth game in a row defeating the Gateway Grizzlies by a final score of 10-5.
RiverHawks shortstop Olmo Rosario hit a two-run homerun in the bottom of the second inning giving Rockford a 3-0 lead. Rockford's left-fielder Rico Santana lead off the top of the third extending the lead to 4-0.
The RiverHawks broke the game open in the top of the sixth inning scoring four runs including a two-run single hit by third-baseman Ben Fjelland.
Designated hitter Ryan Larson added the third Rockford homer of the night in the top of the ninth that made the score 10-5.
Justin Olson got the win for the RiverHawks pitching two and two thirds of scoreless relief. Pete Buck took the loss for Gateway giving up five runs in two and a third innings.
Todd Oetting and Tony Coyne both hit homeruns for Gateway in a losing effort.
The RiverHawks continue the series with Gateway Saturday May 29th at 7:05 p.m. The âHawks return home to Marinelli Field on Thursday June 3rd against Mid-Missouri. The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 12th season.
