The Kalamazoo Kings suffered a 3-2 defeat to the Florence Freedom in the series finale at Homer Stryker Field Thursday evening. Florence had seven hits to the Kings five. Fehlandt Lentini was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Darryl Blaze, Billy Malone, and Jason Startari each had singles for the Kings. The Kings hit the road for a three-game series at Evansville beginning on Friday. The Kings return home Monday, May 31 for the start of a nine-game homestand lasting through June 8.
