Grizzlies Fall in Colorado

Loveland, Colorado - The Colorado Eagles beat the Utah Grizzlies 5-1 Wednesday night at the Budweiser Events Center.

Utah returns home where they are 2-1-0-1 in their last four games Friday to open a stretch of 10 of 11 games at home.

Utah built a 2-0 lead with two goals in 5:37 from 8:23 of the first period to the 14 minute mark.

The Grizzlies outshot Colorado 13-11 in the second period, clanged two posts and worked on three power-plays, but were unable to cut into the deficit. The Eagles even added a shorthanded goal 4:45 into the frame as Utah got to work.

In the third, Colorado scored two in the final 5:50 and C.J. Severyn broke up the shutout for Utah on a breakaway goal as he left the penalty-box. Derick Martin and Paul McIlveen picked up assists as McIlveen scored for the 18th time in the last 22 games.

The Grizzlies will also be home Saturday and Monday to host Idaho at 7:05 p.m. This weekend is Beer Fest with $2 beers and a live band all weekend. Monday is Family Night. Kids under 12 will be admitted free and there will be $1 Food Specials all night long.
