Grizzlies Could Clinch First Playoff Berth Tonight
August 26, 2003 - Frontier League (FL)
Gateway Grizzlies News Release
With a win tonight, the Gateway Grizzlies will clinch their first-ever West Division title, as well as their first-ever trip to the Frontier League playoffs. The Grizzlies have a record of 48-34 and hold a four-game lead over the Rockford RiverHawks in the Frontier League West Division.
The Grizzlies "magic number" is at two, with Rockford coming in to begin a three-game series tonight. Just one win against Rockford would clinch a tie for the division title. The Grizzlies hold all tiebreakers with Rockford, therefore a win would give the Grizzlies the West Division title.
The RiverHawks have a record of 45-39.
The Grizzlies begin the important series with the RiverHawks with a 7:05 game tonight!
Tickets are available by calling the Grizzlies at 618-337-3000!
