Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - With multiple players missing from the line-up due to injuries and American Hockey League call-ups, the Utah Grizzlies managed to collect a 4-3 win over the Las Vegas Wranglers tonight in Utah.
Grizzlies left wing C.J. Severin put Utah on the board early in the game with his first professional goal on assists from center Blair Yaworski and forward Michael Atkinson. Ten minutes later, a Wranglers power play goal by forward Ryan Weston tied the game up 1-1. In the second, Utah regained their lead with goals from right wing Bryan Cameron and left wing Riley Emmerson, giving the Grizzlies a 3-1 advantage.
Midway through the third, Las Vegas tallied a second goal to narrow Utah's lead. For a 3-2 score, forward Josh Lunden secured a goal with defenseman Barry Goers and forward Eric Lampe on the assists. Late in the frame, Grizzlies forward Paul McIlveen netted the team's fourth goal of the night for a 4-2 lead, but with goaltender Mitch O'Keefe pulled for a man advantage, Wranglers forward Judd Blackwater added a goal to end the game 4-3 in favor of Utah.
After Christmas, the Wranglers return home to Orleans Arena to face the Ontario Reign on Monday, Dec. 26, with an unwanted gift swap and ugliest holiday sweater contest. Tuesday, Dec. 27, also marks the return of the Midnight Game, with a puck drop against the Stockton Thunder at 11:59 p.m. Tonight's full box score can be found here .
