Colorado Edges Las Vegas with 6-4 Win

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers battled back from a five-goal deficit in the first period, but fell 6-4 to the Colorado Eagles tonight at Orleans Arena.

Eagles defenseman Jon Landry opened up scoring for Colorado with the team's first goal just two minutes into the game. With a 1-0 lead, Colorado never looked back, tallying four more goals in the first 20 minutes of play to end the first period with a 5-0 lead.

Colorado added a sixth goal to their lead midway through the second on a shot from Eagles defenseman Aaron Schneekloth. On a power play minutes later, Wranglers left wing Adam Miller notched Las Vegas' first goal of the night with assists from forwards Ryan Weston and Eric Lampe to put the team on the board 6-1. Three more Las Vegas goals throughout the game cut Colorado's lead to a close 6-4 score, but the Wranglers were unable to secure the win, falling to the Eagles.

The Wranglers hit the road to play the Utah Grizzlies tomorrow at the Maverik Center at 6:05 p.m. The team returns home to Orleans Arena on Monday, Dec. 26, to play the Ontario Reign at 7:05 p.m., where fans can win prizes for the ugliest holiday sweater and swap unwanted gifts with each other.
