West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has acquired six-foot-five, 225-pound defenseman Nick Tuzzolino from the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for future considerations.

Tuzzolino, a fourth-year pro and 2005 draft pick of the New York Islanders, spent the previous two seasons with the Alaska Aces. He totaled 15 goals and 43 assists for 58 points and 251 penalty minutes in 131 games with Alaska. He added one assist and eight penalty minutes in three games this year with Wheeling.

"Nick is a player we have always had interest in," said Colley. "His style matches that of our team identity. After a few years of trying to acquire him, the persistence has finally paid off."

Tuzzolino is expected to join the Grizzlies this week in Boise as they open an eight-game road trip with games Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Face-off all three evenings is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.

Utah returns home Friday, November 19 and Saturday, November 20 when Tuzzolino will face his former team the Alaska Aces at Maverik Center. Friday is Maverik "Pack the House" night. All tickets are $5 for fans presenting a receipt from Maverik at the arena box office. Fans who present military identification Saturday will receive a $5 game ticket as well.
