Salmon Kings' Gauthier Joins Crunch

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that forward Gabe Gauthier has signed a Professional Tryout Agreement (PTO) with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Torrance, CA native participated in his first two games as a Salmon King this past weekend in Las Vegas, recording no points and four minutes in penalties.

Gauthier is a veteran of 280 professional games, scoring 179 points (57g-122a) with 171 penalty minutes in that span. His totals include eight appearances in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Los Angeles Kings where he amassed two minutes in penalties.

The Salmon Kings return home to open their home-schedule of the 2010-11 regular season at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this Wednesday October 27, Friday October 29 and Saturday October 30 to take on the Ontario Reign. Game time for all three games is 7:05 p.m. Throughout the duration of next week's series, the team will be holding a silent auction for select game-worn Salmon Kings' jerseys. A special live auction will also take place following the Saturday game in the main concourse of the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, where fans will have the chance to bid on various game-worn jerseys, as well as Peter Vandermeer's navy blue jersey he wore during his introductory press conference!
