MOOSIC, PA. - The New York Yankees have transferred the rehab assignment of first baseman Greg Bird and outfielder Billy McKinney to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Both players will be in the lineup tonight as the RailRiders begin a four-game set at Pawtucket's McCoy Stadium.

Bird, a fifth-round selection by New York in 2011, has been out since Spring Training after ankle surgery. Bird has six hits over 23 at-bats split between Advanced-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton.

McKinney was acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs in 2016 as part of the Aroldis Chapman deal. The outfielder made his Major League debut on March 30 and suffered a shoulder sprain the next day. McKinney was placed on the disabled list on April 1. In eight rehab games so far, McKinney has six hits over 26 at bats between Tampa and Trenton.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will return home after this series in Rhode Island, returning to PNC Field on May 25 for a four-game series against the Syracuse Chiefs. Tickets are available online now at swbrailriders.com.
